I got to know the Armenian artist Vazo Pahlavuni-Tadevosyan in the South of France in 2006. We met in a small church where I played a concert with Alexei Aigui as part of the festival "Est/Ouest". Almost immediately afterwards our joint artistic work began.

In 2008 I was invited with my artist friend Peter Hölscher to the 6th International Gyumri Art Biennial in Armenia. Vazo initiated this event 10 years after the earthquake disaster of 1988 in Northern Armenia. The mutual inspiration we experienced there led to the foundation of trio27. Since then we have been meeting regularly in different countries for joint projects.
